Tamara Mellon | Pillow Top Collection 3D Campaign

Project overview

Led the creative direction and execution of a digital campaign for Tamara Mellon’s Pillow Top Collection, featuring two hero styles: Solstice and Solace. The objective was to visually communicate the plushness and luxury of an 8mm memory foam insole—designed to evoke the sensation of sinking into a sofa—while staying true to the brand’s sleek, modern aesthetic.

Each asset was designed for multi-platform usage, including social media, TM.com, direct mail, and paid advertising. Utilizing advanced 3D techniques, I created a soft, sensorial visual world that expressed how the shoes feel—plush, supportive, and elegant—while maintaining the brand’s high-end aesthetic. This digital campaign bridged emotional storytelling and product-forward design, resonating with both fashion-savvy and comfort-seeking audiences.

Creative vision

The Pillow Top Collection draws its inspiration from furniture design icons—Eames chairs, De Sede sofas, and the architectural language of Ricardo Legorreta. The project goal was to craft environments and visuals that captured this intersection of comfort, bold form, and intelligent design.

The campaign’s creative strategy was grounded in three pillars:

• Visualizing softness and depth through movement and material realism

• Building immersive, architectural environments inspired by Ricardo Legorreta’s bold geometries and warm palettes

• Blending product storytelling with brand emotion, aligning with Tamara Mellon’s seasonal theme: A Journey Home

Creative Process

To bring the concept of “Smart Luxury” to life, I translated tactile sensations into rich visual metaphors. Each scene was carefully designed to express the grounded elegance of the Pillow Top collection while highlighting material softness and product silhouette.

For Solstice, I created a tranquil environment with structured shadows and curved volumes, emphasizing the blend of modernity and softness. The animation used slow, buoyant motion to dramatize the insole’s plush rebound.

For Solace, I leaned into a desert-inspired palette with warm architectural tones, using close-up shots and dynamic lighting to capture the sensory contrast between clean lines and plush interior.

Both styles were framed in minimal yet emotionally resonant spaces, guided by references like Talitha Getty’s bohemian spirit and Hilda af Klint’s ethereal compositions.

Result & Impact

The campaign successfully translated a functional benefit—comfort—into an aspirational visual language.

  • The animations highlighted the plush, responsive quality of the insole, capturing viewer attention across digital platforms.

  • The visuals were used across Tamara Mellon’s website, social media, paid ads, and direct mail, reinforcing the collection’s story.

This project further deepened my ability to transform conceptual narratives into high-impact visuals and to collaborate closely with brand teams to meet both emotional and commercial goals.
